Entry qualification

Language requirements

English A minimum B2-level knowledge of English is required for enrolment. Please make sure you upload one of the certifications we recognise as proof of your English language level. You can apply to this programme even if you have yet to obtain a language certification, but you will need to provide one in order to complete your enrolment. Exemption categories Please note: Ca’ Foscari University does not conduct any test to assess your knowledge of English as part of the application procedure.

Other requirements

This is a limited-admission programme that requires you to take an online written entry test called the TOLC-E, which is offered by the test provider CISIA. This test evaluates your knowledge of mathematics, logic and reading comprehension, and it can be taken in English or in Italian. EU applicants must register for and take the entry test and respond to one of the calls for applications posted in the Admission section of the programme’s official web page. There are two selection rounds, each with its own call for applications: one in the spring (call published in March 2025) and one in the summer (call published in June 2025). It is possible to substitute the TOLC-E test with an SAT; to see how this worked for the 2024/25 academic year, you can consult the calls published in the spring of 2024 in the Admission section of the programme’s official web page indicated above. Non-European applicants requiring a visa must register for and take the entry test, which is governed by specific guidelines for admission that will be published here on this platform later this fall. It is possible to substitute the TOLC-E test with an SAT; for details about how to do so and the minimum acceptable score, please consult the guidelines when they are posted here. Prepare yourself to take the test by using the TEST SIMULATOR NB: although the initial registration page is in Italian, the simulator will allow you to practice taking the test in either English or Italian.
