Entry qualification

High school / secondary education (or higher) Students must have attended school for at least 12 years in order to be eligible to enrol in a bachelor’s degree offered by an Italian university. Language requirements

English Italian ITALIAN A minimum B2-level knowledge of Italian is required for enrolment. Please make sure you upload one of the certifications we recognise as proof of your language level. You can apply to this programme even if you have yet to obtain a language certification, but in order to complete your enrolment you will need to provide one or take a preliminary Italian language test organised either on Skype or on campus before the academic year begins. You are exempted from needing to provide evidence of your proficiency in Italian if: • Italian is your mother tongue; or • you are an EU citizen (regardless of citizenship and residence). Chinese Marco Polo students can provide a language certification indicating either a B1- or a B2-level knowledge of Italian. Chinese Marco Polo students enrolling with a certified B1-level knowledge of Italian must achieve a certified B2-level knowledge of the language by the end of the first year of their studies. ENGLISH A minimum B1-level knowledge of English is also required. Please make sure you upload one of the certifications we recognise as proof of your English language level. Exemption categories If you do not satisfy this requirement at the moment of enrolment, you will be assigned an Additional Learning Requirement, or ALR, in English (Obbligo Formativo Aggiuntivo – OFA) that must be satisfied by the end of your first year of study (deadline of September 30) by passing an exam. Passing the ALR exam may be necessary in order to take other exams included in your study plan.

Overview

If you are interested in developing solutions for environmental problems, diagnosis plans or prevention strategies, this programme prepares you to do so by equipping you with the multidisciplinary skills you need.

The degree involves core courses in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, ecology and geology, as well as specific courses in environmental science, in order to provide you with a rich understanding of environmental economics, ecology, environmental chemistry, law and environmental planning. It also teaches you how to evaluate environmental impact.

You can push your knowledge further thanks to workshops, labs and field activities, and during your second year you will get to spend a special intensive week with professors, researchers and tutors, a unique opportunity in Italy. What is more, thanks to Ca’ Foscari’s numerous exchange agreements, you can choose to spend a semester or a year at a partner university abroad.
