Language requirements | Italian ITALIAN You can apply to this programme even if you have yet to obtain a language certification, but in order to complete your enrolment you will need to provide one or take a preliminary Italian language test organised either on Skype or on campus before the academic year begins. You are exempted from needing to provide evidence of your proficiency in Italian if: Chinese Marco Polo students can provide language certification indicating either a B1- or a B2-level knowledge of Italian. Chinese Marco Polo students enrolling with a certified B1-level knowledge of Italian must achieve a certified B2-level knowledge of the language by the end of the first year of their studies. ENGLISH If you choose Anglo-American or English as one of your main study languages, you should have a certified B2-level knowledge of English at the moment of your enrolment. If you do not satisfy this requirement at the moment of enrolment, you will be assigned an Additional Learning Requirement, or ALR, in English (Obbligo Formativo Aggiuntivo – OFA) that must be satisfied by the end of your first year of study (deadline of September 30) by passing an exam. Passing the ALR exam is mandatory in order to take any English language and/or literature exams included in your study plan. |

Overview
Are you interested in languages, literature, foreign cultures and civilisations? Would you like to learn more about language science and how linguistic and cultural identities are constructed?
This programme gives you the opportunity to strengthen your knowledge of at least two languages and possibly a third by choosing from more than 20 languages. Depending on the curriculum you choose, you can specialise in literature and culture, language science, or international politics. You can further develop and practice your skills by spending a semester or year studying abroad or by carrying out an internship at one of Ca’ Foscari’s many partner institutions.
