List of different types of accomodation offered
ONLY all admitted students that will confirm our offer, will be given support by our Housing Office in finding accomodation.
Please find as followed the type of accomodations offered by the Housing Office that you can choose from:
- Subsidized student residences
Managed by ESU, the regional institution for Diritto allo Studio (there are also a couple of flats in Treviso). In order to have this type of accommodation it is necessary to provide the requested documents within the time indicated in the notice usually published in June by ESU. The ranking follows income and merit criteria.
If students do not meet the income or merit requirement, they can apply for the remaing places available only after the first housing allocation.
The residences managed by ESU are the most convenient in Venice.
For more information please visit the website: www.esuvenezia.it.
Since ESU and Ca’Foscari University of Venice work separately, all specific queries must be requested or submitted directly to ESU offices.
- Private Residences
Student residences owned by private people (sometimes they are owned by the Church, but managed by lay people). This kind of accommodation is not subsidized.
Ca’ Foscari University has particular agreements with the most important Private Residences in Venice. Students interested in this specific accomodation must submit their application form to Ca’ Foscari Housing Office, so to rely on a safe and direct channel to get an accommodation in one of the residences within the deadline scheduled in the agreements (usually it is June, 30). Please be advised that accommodaton in Collegio Privato is very requested; thus, it is recommended to contact the Housing Office very early (even from May). Prices can be found on this webpage and updated version is available every year from May on. Please note: the information you will find on the webpage said above concerning accomodation in ESU residences are exclusively dedicated to international mobility students and all students enrolled at Ca’ Foscari University. In order to stay in one of the ESU student residences, students must follow the process indicated in the first point above (Subsidized student residences).
- Private shared flats
Directly offered by landlords through the Housing Office.
The Housing Office has several contacts and offers for flats to rent in Venice, in Lido and in Mestre. Please note: areas like Mestre or Lido are more convenient and cheaper than Venice itself. Even if it’s not Venice, students may anyway fully enjoy their university life.
The average cost of a single room in Venice is € 370,00 + bills, and € 320,00 + bills for a place in shared room with another student. It can cost more when it is a double room for single use.
In other areas (Mestre, Lido, Marghera) rents are a little cheaper.
Ca’Foscari has also an agreement with HousingAnywhere: the aim is to inform our international incoming students about the available accomodations our outgoing ones will leave in Venice to go for their period abroad.
HousingAnywhere is an international platform of available accomodation for students.
On this platform you may have the possibility to find out the available accomodations left by our outgoing students. In order to be identified as a Ca’Foscari student and receive priority access to the available rooms, please fill in the form you will find at this link.
