If you are enrolling in a bachelor’s or master’s degree at Ca’ Foscari this fall, then read up about all the welcome activities and opportunities that await!

Everything really gets started when classes begin. To remind you, this happens for Science & Technology programmes on September 16 and for programmes in all other fields on September 9. We would love you to take advantage of everything we offer to help get you ready.

GEARING UP FOR CA’ FOSCARIWEBINAR
To get you revving your engines, the International Office offered a webinar with some of its staff and some students that is all about student life and how to best prepare for it on July 19. If you missed it and would like to watch the recording, write to us at studentlifeinvenice@unive.it!

BUDDY PROGRAMME
There’s nothing like a little help from a friend when you are getting settled in to a new place. To give this support, current Ca’ Foscari students volunteer to participate in our Buddy Programme, making themselves available to new international students.

NETWORKING APP FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Once you are accepted to Ca’ Foscari, you get access to an exclusive version of the networking app Goin’ that allows you to create a profile and reach out to other international students – both new like you and those who enrolled last year – as well as to lots of our Ca’ Foscari Buddies (we mentioned them above). (The invitation to join the app via unique link arrives within a week or so of your acceptance; if have trouble, write to studentlifeinvenice@unive.it.)

INTERNATIONAL WELCOME WEEK
In association with the beginning of the academic year, Ca’ Foscari organizes an International Welcome Week consisting of a series of orientation events and social activities designed for new international degree-seeking students enrolling in a Ca’ Foscari bachelor’s or master’s degree as well as for new international incoming exchange students.
We are getting things off to a bang with our administrative Welcome Day on September 3, which will take place in person but also be streamed live and recorded. This event will teach you how to get the Italian immigration documents you need (your Italian fiscal code, your permit of stay, etc.), how to get your student card (which also functions as a bank card with its own associated bank account), and what services and opportunities are available to Ca’ Foscari students. There will also be campus tours offered on September 4 that you will be able to request to participate in.
Balancing out more practical encounters like these, there are also light-hearted social activities designed to allow you to make new friends and begin to create your Ca’ Foscari community. There will be the chance to go dragon boating (look it up!), play board games, have breakfast with some of your new peers and much, much more.
Later in the summer we will send accepted students all of the additional information they need – including the link for watching the live streaming of the orientation day presentation and the final schedule of in-person social events – via email to the address they used to register their applications on apply.unive.it.

Thanks to all of this help, we hope you’ll be able to get your new adventure at Ca’ Foscari off to a great start!
